COME JOIN us for the day!
Saturday, October 3rd you are invited to walk the forests, eat a Japanese bento box in The Old Barn, listen to a cello or violin or Koto instrument. Find shadows on a fallen photograph. See a woman perform suspended in between one-hundred-foot redwood trees in the PINKBOX.
To bring the community together around the questions we ask in our lives. So that we do not face these questions alone.

“Have you ever glitched?”
Nestled in the Redwood forests above Woodside Northern California, nineteen local and international artists gather, to create site-specific installations, sound sculptures, and performances around a lived question.
This year's question examines how we navigate the glitches in our lives.
Alex H Nichols is not exactly a curator but an artist inciting other artists. The word glitch in the dictionary relates to electrical currents. (Glitch is a spike or change in voltage in an electrical current when the circuit suddenly has a new load on it).
What happens when our bodies can’t absorb or understand a change? What happens when an intense emotion or an unexpected loss causes a system overload? Can a ‘glitch’ also represent a spike or slip in identity, a dissonance in perception, or rejection of a system?

NAVIGATION IV is in its fourth year of activation. Alex, in collaboration with Djerassi Resident Artists Program, both believe in creative inquiry, experimentation, and interdisciplinary exchange.
As the SF Bay Area community faces so many closures of renowned arts institutions these sites of innovation become more cherished.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
10:00-10:15 Arrive/park walk a few steps
10:00-10:30 ARTIST BARN in the open air wood shop where all the art is built, have a cup of Iced coffee or Iced tea. Receive a map of the day and booklet with all the stories from the artists, and see the FIRST INSTALLATION.
10:00-11:00 keep walking for 20 min through a redwood forest out onto the dirt path and rolling hills. PINK CONES will guide you to the OLD BARN (you will pass Kevin Corcoran on percussion) At the Old Barn take a WALK AROUND THE INSTALLATIONS with your map.
11:00-11:15 Modern Hardware PERFORMANCE Anna, Brian, Calvin, Lemon are musicians from Stanford (15 min)
11:20 Introduction Alex H Nichols (Curator/Interlocutor), Craig Adams (Executive Director of Djerassi)
11:30-12:00 Sit down and eat a by Chef Yusuke Konno
12:00-12:30 follow a small path into the forest for PINKBOX PERFORMANCE with Alex, Calvin, Ioanida, Jorge, Kevin, and Lemon (15min)
12:45-1:00 yi yang & Astra PERFORMANCE (15min)
1:00-2:00 hibiscus tea, small snack, WANDER INSTALLATIONS using map and book as guide, converse. Go up to artists and ask them questions.
2:00-2:15 Ana & Dan PERFORMANCE (15 min)
2:15-3:00 Free to WANDER INSTALLATIONS and slowly head back to cars
